Editor’s Pick (Test): India - South Africa.

Yup. We lost the series. We have lost two matches out of a three match test series. We hope to win the third test. But that is not all that we have to look forward to. Fantain Fantasy Cricket is here to provide you with various lineups that you can pick from. There is a 250 rupee pool that will win you a thousand rupees if you come first. Second and third places are 750 and 250 rupees respectively.

Other pools are just as lucrative where you can play with Rs 100, Rs 50, Rs 30, and so on. IF you win the free pool, you can win FanCash that you can use to play the paid pool.

It’s a win win situation isn’t it? So let’s see which players you can have on your lineup that will improve your chances of winning. It is a bright and green strip. More trouble for the wicket-keeper.
The highest total on this pitch is a massive 450. Scored by SA against India. Hmm..

Must have players
R Ashwin
Hardik Pandya
Virat Kohli
Vernon Philander

Good-Form Players / Reliable
Lungi Ngidi
Jasprit Bumrah
Vernon Philander

High performance players on the Fantain App
Faf Du Plessis - 140.5
Ab De Villiers - 165
Virat Kohli - 145
Mohammed Shami - 180
K Rabada - 173
Morne Morkel - 173
Vernon Philander - 211

I would like to play Rahane in my team. We need to add to our batting power. Parthiv Patel has shown some girth and should stay on. Saha is out.

What do you think?

Peshawar Zalmi vs Multan Sultans - Post Match Blog.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Ain't it true. Newcomers Sultans thrash Peshawar Zalmi by 7 wickets in PSL 2018 opener sending shockwaves through the league. Being a defending champion did take a toll on Peshawar Zalmi. Not easy walking into a tournament with everyone looking at you assuming you will win.

When the Sultans came in to bat, they had an early upset when they lost the opener for a duck. With a target of 152, it took the experienced Kumara Sangakkara to set the ship on course towards the target. He was calm and composed as he has been throughout his international career. Singles and doubles. And planned boundaries. By the time he was out, caught behind, the team was fairly stable. Shoaib Malik’s captain knock along with Kieron Pollard finished the match in style.
Earlier in the day, Peshawar Zalmi came in to bat. Apart from Mohammad Hafeez’s 59, with twenty-something runs from Dwayne Smith and Darren Sammy; the rest of the batsmen barely contributed. Like I s…

Fan Data Analytics: Key to drive sports company growth

Over the last several years, the buzz word in business and IT circles has been "big-data" and analytics. Many many articles and write-ups talk about them so I won't go into the details. You could get enough to last a lifetime with just the first few results of a Google search of these terms. But do you really know how it applies, specifically to a sports company?

For long, sports franchises have been one of the biggest users of analytics. Before this was a buzz word, coaches and managers have relied up numbers and finding patterns in them to drive on-field performance. Indeed, the major leagues of the world have relied on performance analytics for everything from scouting for talent to calling the action on the field of play.

But that never transcended to the off-field, more mundane but equally important task of managing the sports business. As more and more options come up vying for the fan's attention - live events, travel, other sports, TV, the Internet - the war…

Need for co-ed sports

Now, this is hardly a feminist piece. I am not here to tell you that women can do anything that men can and better too. One, you know it too. Two, this is hardly about women. I am not here to praise women and demand better rights. I am talking about the possibility that the entire field of sports can take a whole new meaning if gender is not made the criterion. So this is how the idea for the blog started.
The Women’s Indian Cricket Team performed really well at the world cup this year. Mithali Raj praised her team for their hard work, persistence, and passion for the game. She also added that there should be an IPL tournament in the country for the women’s team now. Raj believes that the team’s fantastic game has increased the fan following for the women’s team as well and that they have earned their place here.
While I am honestly not sure about an IPL tournament for women, it did get me thinking. Why not mixed sports? Now that girls play almost all the games that the guys do, why n…
