Editor’s Pick (PKL)

Gujarat is still on top of Zone A with 43 points. Bengal Warriors in Zone B with 42 points. Seems like you can decide the top team of each zone more or less now. The second and third place is very dicey with not much margin in the points. There will be a lot of suspense there, hopefully. What’s a tournament without it,  yes?

Today’s Match - Hyderabad V Pune.
Telugu Titans - Squad strength: 18 (16 Indian, 2 Overseas)
Defenders – Rohit Rana, Farhad Rahimi, Vinod Kumar, Amit Singh Chhillar, Sombir
Raiders – Mohsen Maghsoudloujafari, Athul MS, Rahul Chaudhari, Vikas Kumar, Vikas (Services), Nilesh Salunke, Munish, Vinoth Kumar, Munish, Vikrant, Ankit Malik
Puneri Paltan - Squad strength: 15 (13 Indian, 2 Overseas)
Defenders – Dharamraj Cheralathan, Girish Ernak, Md. Ziaur Rehman
Raiders –  Rajesh Mondal, Rohit Kumar Choudary, Umesh Mhatre, Akshay Jadhav, More GB, Suresh Kumar, Deepak Niwas Hooda
All Rounders – Takamitsu Kono, Sandeep Narwal, Ravi Kumar, Ajay, Narender Hooda

This match lineup was tricky. Lot of high performing players.
AR: Sandeep Narwal, Deepak Hooda, Rakesh Kumar, Vishal Bharadwaj
DF: Girish Maruti
RA: Rahul Chaudhari, More GB

More all-rounders today than my usual. I prefer more raiders ideally.

Second match - Bengal V Delhi
Bengal Warriors - Squad strength: 18 (16 Indian, 2 Overseas)
Defenders –  Young Chang Ko, Ameares Mondal, Sandeep Malik, Surjeet Singh, Virender  Singh, Rahul Kumar, Shashank Wankhede
Raiders – Jang Kun Lee, Maninder Singh, Deepak Narwal, Vinod Kumar, Virender Wazir Singh, Kuldeep, Anil Kumar
All Rounders –  Bhupender Singh, Shrikant Tewthia, Ran Singh, Ravindra Kumavat, Vikash
Dabang Delhi - Squad strength: 20 (18 Indian, 2 Overseas)
Defenders – Nilesh Shinde, Bajirao Hodage, Sunil, Viraj Vishnu Landge, Swapnil Shinde, Satpal
Raiders – Ravi Dalal, Abolfazl Maghsoudlou, Suraj Desai, Rohit Baliyan, Patil Anand, Suresu Kumar, Vipin Malik, Shubham Palkar
All Rounders –  Tapas Pal, Vishal, Meraj Sheykh, Rupesh Tomar, Chetan S, Yatharth

Top scorer of B meets Last Bencher of A.
Ideally I’d want Meraj Sheykh, Surjeet Singh, Maninder Singh, Deepak Narwal, A Maghsodio and Jang Kun Lee. Salary issues. I have only 11 left. So taking the most expensive player out - Quite painfully at that - Jang Kun Lee. I want Ran Singh. Hodage in. Compromise much?

My final lineup
AR: Ran Singh, Meraj Sheykh
DF: Bajirao Hodage, Surjeet Singh
RA: A Maghsodio, Deepak Narlwal, Maninder Singh

Chennai beats Mumbai and clinch thriller

It is not just about coming back. It is about the impact you make in the process. And Chennai team knows how to with a bang.  The Chennai team beat the home team by one wicket in what was an absolute sit-at-the-end-of-the-chair thriller. It was one of the best chases the tournament has seen and it most definitely won't be the last. The player who made the difference in the end - Jadhav - literally came back from the dead after retiring hurt to take his team to the finish line by hitting the ball in style with a six and a four.  Batting on one leg and playing an absolutely unbelievable shot, this player leveled the scores first with a six and finished the match with a four.
Key Points  MI has never won their opener since 2013.This was Chennai's first win against MI in an opener of this T20 League DRS used in the league for the first time Bravo: It was a great team effort. I want to dedicate this win to the CSK fan, they have waited long for it. I came very early. I …

Key Players: India - England

When there is nothing left, you will play for pride. That is what India has to do tomorrow. Considering the fact that the match is taking place in Mumbai. Do it for them. Do it for us.  England and Australia will meet each other at the finals on 31st March. India and England are more than likely to go in with the same playing eleven.
India Terribly low on morale, the team will now have to give it their all. They need to know that they are much better than this.

England The team has been doing really well since day one. They will now consider this as a practice match. But they will want to win and go to the finals with confidence. They were thumped by Australia earlier in what can be called as a one-sided game. They want to win this tomorrow.
