Editor’s Pick: India - Pakistan @ the Grand Finale

So the day we have all been hoping for is here. India in the finals of the Champions Trophy. The other team that made it along with India, arch rival Pakistan, only makes the match debatably the most anticipated one of the year yet.

While there have been external factors such as rain playing an essential role, the fact that both teams played good cricket to get here cannot be ignored. Both teams are fresh off not just victories, but stunning ones at that. The margins are wider than ever. Winning with ten overs to spare by eight wickets and nine wickets respectively show that the two sides are stronger than ever.

It is very clear that both captains are not likely to rock the boat and change the winning combination. No one would. But we can modify our fantasy lineup to suit our personal needs, can’t we?

I would want someone in good form on my team. Someone who has not only been consistent but also someone who has peaked recently. They are good bets in my books. But then, this is just me.

Wicket Keeper

M.S.Dhoni (9) - M.S.Dhoni may not be captain anymore but he sure is someone that Kohli goes to for guidance. He has a cool head on his shoulders and seeing as this is a high tension match, Dhoni is a good man to have on your side.

Sarfraz Ahmed (11) - Captain. Wicket-Keeper. Aggressive batsman. Can score at a brisk pace. He has proven to lead the team well not just by talk but by action as well.

Batsmen

Virat Kohli (11) - The current captain of the Indian team, Kohli’s aggressive attitude is what the team needs right now to win the emotionally charged finals.
Rohit Sharma (9) - After watching the last match, would adding him to the lineup even need a reason?
Fakhar Zaman (7) - He has proven to be a decisive batsman in the otherwise volatile batting lineup of Pakistan.
Shikhar Dhawan (8) - Give the man a bat and watch him go.
Azhar Ali (8) - He is proving to be reliable too, thereby adding strength to the batting lineup.

Bowler

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (9) - He’s added versatility to the bowling lineup in the Indian team.
Junaid Khan (7) - If you can trust him in the death, you can trust him all the time.
Jasprit Bumrah (9) - The current go-to man in India, when you want wickets.

All-rounder

Mohammad Hafeez (11) - He prides on being part of an unpredictable team. He contributes with both bat and the ball.

The reason why I had trouble fixing the final eleven for my fantasy lineup particularly tricky is that there are many players who have been in not just good but fantastic form. They have contributed in a magnificent way and it is very hard to ignore some of them. But seeing as I have only 100 as salary and only eleven on my team., I go with my gut and pick the above eleven. What is your choice?

Editor’s Pick (Nidahas T20): India - Sri Lanka

The table is currently in a very surprising situation. Most expected Sri Lanka to show Bangladesh the door. But here they are still standing up and shining. The tournament is wide open. Today’s match is between India and Sri Lanka. The stakes are much higher now that Bangladesh is more feared than before. The teams would not want to risk anything at this point. Earlier I had said that they might experiment with the lineup and give everyone a chance. Now it will be more than giving people a chance. They will strategize. The Indian team will be open to experimentation, but not at the cost of results.

The untested ones are Deepak Hooda, KL Rahul, and Axar Patel. India has lost to Sri Lanka in their first encounter of this tournament. They will want to be wary because another defeat could cost them the tournament itself. So, not all the new players will see the light today.
A lot depends on Rohit Sharma today. Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Manish Pandey and Dinesh Karthik will chip in too.…
