Editor’s Pick: India - Pakistan @ the Grand Finale

So the day we have all been hoping for is here. India in the finals of the Champions Trophy. The other team that made it along with India, arch rival Pakistan, only makes the match debatably the most anticipated one of the year yet.

While there have been external factors such as rain playing an essential role, the fact that both teams played good cricket to get here cannot be ignored. Both teams are fresh off not just victories, but stunning ones at that. The margins are wider than ever. Winning with ten overs to spare by eight wickets and nine wickets respectively show that the two sides are stronger than ever.

It is very clear that both captains are not likely to rock the boat and change the winning combination. No one would. But we can modify our fantasy lineup to suit our personal needs, can’t we?

I would want someone in good form on my team. Someone who has not only been consistent but also someone who has peaked recently. They are good bets in my books. But then, this is just me.

Wicket Keeper

M.S.Dhoni (9) - M.S.Dhoni may not be captain anymore but he sure is someone that Kohli goes to for guidance. He has a cool head on his shoulders and seeing as this is a high tension match, Dhoni is a good man to have on your side.

Sarfraz Ahmed (11) - Captain. Wicket-Keeper. Aggressive batsman. Can score at a brisk pace. He has proven to lead the team well not just by talk but by action as well.

Batsmen

Virat Kohli (11) - The current captain of the Indian team, Kohli’s aggressive attitude is what the team needs right now to win the emotionally charged finals.
Rohit Sharma (9) - After watching the last match, would adding him to the lineup even need a reason?
Fakhar Zaman (7) - He has proven to be a decisive batsman in the otherwise volatile batting lineup of Pakistan.
Shikhar Dhawan (8) - Give the man a bat and watch him go.
Azhar Ali (8) - He is proving to be reliable too, thereby adding strength to the batting lineup.

Bowler

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (9) - He’s added versatility to the bowling lineup in the Indian team.
Junaid Khan (7) - If you can trust him in the death, you can trust him all the time.
Jasprit Bumrah (9) - The current go-to man in India, when you want wickets.

All-rounder

Mohammad Hafeez (11) - He prides on being part of an unpredictable team. He contributes with both bat and the ball.

The reason why I had trouble fixing the final eleven for my fantasy lineup particularly tricky is that there are many players who have been in not just good but fantastic form. They have contributed in a magnificent way and it is very hard to ignore some of them. But seeing as I have only 100 as salary and only eleven on my team., I go with my gut and pick the above eleven. What is your choice?

TNPL - A Brief Rundown

Based on the stupendously successful Indian Premier League is the Tamil Nadu Premier League. This Indian T20 cricket league has been established by the Tamil Nadu State Cricket Association to bring out more and more Natarajans and Washingtons who otherwise do not get a chance to showcase their skill and talent in the world of Cricket. The inaugural edition of the TNPL took place in 2016 and received unexpected and unprecedented success and love. There was a brilliant batch of young men who came forward and made an event out of the first season of TNPL.

Changes
The purpose of every organization is to make it bigger and better. TNPL is no exception. At the inaugural TNPL 2016, there were the traditional two semifinals and one final. This year will see a format similar to IPL. The finalists are decided by two qualifiers along with one eliminator. This format has proven to be more exciting.…

Editors Pick ( PKL)

Not much cricket happening for the next two days. More time for Kabaddi now. We are in the month of October. Closer to the next round. The status of the teams on the Pro Kabaddi table matter big time now. It is time for the teams to keep an eye on their ranks all the time now. No pressure :)

Let’s take a look at the table. The top three teams in each zone make it to the next level. The points were very close at one point and then apart. Some teams have been super consistent doing well and others, consistently at the bottom of the table. Team A has four teams who are fighting for the next level big time - Gujarat Fortune Giants, Haryana Steelers, Puneri Paltan and U Mumba. Jaipur Pink Panthers and Dabang Delhi are closer to the bottom and will have to do really really well to make a difference. Zone B - the bottom two teams - Bengaluru Bulls and Tamil Thalaivas are not looking too hot. The top four teams are Patna Pirates, Bengal Warriors, U.P.Yoddha and Telugu Titans.

In a crux, any o…

Editor’s Pick (Women’s Cricket): India - West Indies

India, fourth on the table, has won her first game while West Indies lost. India has a lot to prove for her country. That She deserves as much love and support as the men in blue. Sad that She has to, but circumstances demand it. West Indies on the other hand are looking for a win to kick start their journey to the final.
It is a win-win situation for both the teams. But then, I want my fantasy lineup to win too. So, for this lineup, I have looked up not only the selection percentage generated by fans’ choice, but also the players’ performance in this tournament so far.
