Editor’s Pick: India - West Indies

Welcome to the third ODI between India and West Indies. As we all know, the first match was a washout. The second match, India won by a massive 105 runs. India is currently leading in this series so far with that win. The Indian Boys have done pretty well for themselves. The top batsmen brought the runs home and the bowlers restricted the opponent with perfect line and length. They could look at a series win if things go well. Keeping this in mind, I have picked my team. Jonathan Carter Virat Kohli Shikhar Dhawan Ajinkya Rahane Alzarri Joseph Kuldeep Yadav Bhuvaneshwar Kumar Shai Hope MS Dhoni Jason Holder Hardik Pandya This lineup seems an easy one to pick. Our job is easy I guess. It’s the players on the field who do most of the hard work. Here’s wishing them all the best. Especially the ones in our lineup :) Indu P.S. Editor’s Pick(Women’s Cricket): Sri Lanka - Australia

The Australian Women have always been on top of their game. Six-time world cup winners, the Australian Women have what it takes to win the 2017 cup too. And Sri Lanka? They are currently ranked eighth in the ICC list and sixth on the points table of this tournament. They don’t really shine so well, but then so did the Bangladesh Men’s team at the world Cup. They made it to the top four. Never discount any team. Let’s look at my lineup. -Dilani Manodara -Elyse Villani -Nipuni Hansika -Nicole Bolton -Megan Schutt -Kristen Beams -Chandima Gunaratne -Prasadani Weerakkody -Beth Mooney -Ellyse Perry -Chamari Attapattu I worked on this list the same way as I did the other match for today as well. Selection percentage plus performance. Results speaks volumes. Indu P.S. Please note that the above-expressed opinions are purely the Editor’s. Editor’s Pick (Women’s Cricket): India - West Indies

India, fourth on the table, has won her first game while West Indies lost. India has a lot to prove for her country. That She deserves as much love and support as the men in blue. Sad that She has to, but circumstances demand it. West Indies on the other hand are looking for a win to kick start their journey to the final. It is a win-win situation for both the teams. But then, I want my fantasy lineup to win too. So, for this lineup, I have looked up not only the selection percentage generated by fans’ choice, but also the players’ performance in this tournament so far. My Team  -Chedean Nation -Mithali Raj -Smriti Mandhana -Punam Raut -Ekta Bisht -Shakera Salman -Shamilia Connel -Poonam Yadav -Meriss Aguilleira -Deepti Sharma -Harmanpreet kaur Let’s hope this clicks. Will you agree with it? Let’s hear some opinions shall we? Indu P.S. Please note that the above-expressed opinions are purely the Editor’s. We do not take responsibility, no

Editor's Pick (Women's Cricket) New Zealand – South Africa

NZ meets SA. Both teams have one win from one match, with NZ higher on the table because of a better run rate ( +1.2580) as opposed to SA’s +0.104. Currently, the top teams are Australia, New Zealand, India and South Africa. Pakistan, England, Sri Lanka and West Indies are yet to register a win, putting them as the bottom four on the table so far. Let’s take a look at my lineup for this match. Batsman Amy Satterthwait Mignon Du Preez Laura Wolvaardt Lizelle Lee Bowlers Shabnim Ismail Lea Tahuhu Mseline Daniels Holly Huddleston Wicket Keeper Rachel Priest All-Rounders Marizanne Kapp Suzie Bates Let’s hear yours. Editor's Take: Pressures of the hot seat

The post of captaincy in the cricket team is referred to as the hot seat. And rightly so. If the position was rejected by The Great Little Master, there must be something un-wanted about it yes? Sachin Tendulkar did not think it was worth it. So let’s take a quick look at the hot seat. And how India as a cricket fanatic nation thinks of it. We have had quite a few successful Indian Captains. Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Kapil Dev. And the really really popular ones as well. Mohammad Azharuddin. Sourav Ganguly. Mahendra Singh Dhoni. ( I am not adding Virat Kohli here for now because he is one of the key points of this blog). It’s not like they had a walk-in-the-park type feeling while donning the captain’s cap. They have had their share of pure hell. And now to Kohli. Remember the time when he didn’t perform well and had trouble connecting the ball with the bat. It is one thing to call him on it and ask him to pull up his socks. It is completely another to start throwing s

Editor’s Pick(Women's Cricket) : England - Pakistan

The women’s world cup is getting a lot of attention, isn’t it? On our app, we have close to eight thousand players working on their lineup. Keep it up, players. Tell your friends as well. # BeTheChampion # GirlsAreAwesome # Cricket So let’s take a look at the players for this match. Many of them have done quite well increasing their selection percentage. Today’s lineup is based on how their recent performance has been and how many fans want them in their lineup. I’m trying different things here to make the lineup click. Bear with me, please. -Jenny gunn                                    11 47% -Asmavia Iqbal                               9           70% -Heather Knight                             9 97% -Nain Abidi                                       9 63% -Nahida Khan                                  8 94% -Fran Wilson                                    7 91% -Sana Mir                                         11 71% -Danielle Haz

Women's Cricket World Cup Editor’s Take: India – England

So yay!! The first match of the Women’s Cricket World Cup, India took on England and India beat England. It has been a historic win indeed with Captain Mithali Raj smashing the world record in the process. That is like double the reason to rejoice the match for any and all true blue Indian Fan. We, at Fantain, applaud the winning team and wish them best for the rest of the tournament. Make It Count. So here’s what happened. The match began with another history in the making. DRS was being used for the first time in a women’s cricket match. One would wonder why it took so long but ok. Moving on. England put in India to bat first. The morning was overcast. England thought it would be better to bat second. When they came in, they had a target of 282. They not only seemed to have trouble with the bat, they also struggled with the runs.  There were four run-outs! Ensuring that no good partnerships take place is a very good way to bring the opponent down. Frances Wilson, who was
